Team Enablement

We coach your product and engineering teams in the practices that make delivery smoother, such as code review, testing, planning, and releasing, so the gains stay with you after we leave.

Overview

Talented teams still struggle when the basics are uneven: reviews that take days, releases that feel risky, plans that change every week, and knowledge that sits in one person’s head. Courses on their own rarely fix this, because people go back to old habits. Coaching on your real work, with measurable goals, changes how the team works day to day.

Learning on your own product
We teach using your code, backlog, and releases, so every session leads to a real improvement.
Changes you can measure
We set baselines for review time, release frequency, and defects, and report how they move.
Practices that outlast us
Playbooks and internal champions keep the new habits going after the coaching ends.

What we help with

The everyday practices that decide whether a product team delivers well or struggles.

Code review and engineering standards
Shared rules for reviews, naming, and structure that make code easier to read and safer to change.
Testing and release practices
Habits and tooling for testing early, releasing small, and recovering quickly when something breaks.
Planning and delivery coaching
Simple ways to plan, size, and track work that give you predictable delivery without heavy process.
Product thinking for engineers
Helping engineers and designers understand users and outcomes, not just tickets.
Onboarding and handover
Structured onboarding for new joiners, and clean handover when a product moves from a supplier to your team.
Leadership coaching
Support for tech leads and product managers on feedback, prioritising, and running a healthy team.

Where to focus

Teams cannot change everything at once. We help you pick the few practices that will make the biggest difference.

  • Why does delivery feel slow or unpredictable?

    How we help

We look at your code, board, and releases, and talk to the team, to find where work actually waits.

    What changes

A short list of causes, with the one or two changes likely to help most.

  • How should we do code review?

    How we help

We agree review rules with the team, set size and time targets, and practise on live pull requests.

    What changes

Faster reviews, fewer rework cycles, and shared standards.

  • How do we release more often, safely?

    How we help

We introduce small releases, automated checks, and a simple rollback plan, one step at a time.

    What changes

More frequent releases and less fear on release day.

  • How do we onboard new people or take over a product?

    How we help

A guided path through the code, tools, and decisions, with pairing sessions and written notes.

    What changes

New joiners contributing in weeks, and a handover that does not depend on one person.

  • How do we keep the habits going?

    How we help

We train internal champions, write short playbooks, and hold a monthly clinic for the first six months.

    What changes

Practices owned by your team, and a way to keep improving them.

Approach

We learn how your team works, change one thing at a time, and measure whether it helped.

  1. Phase 1

    2 weeks

    Assess

    • Observe how the team plans, builds, reviews, and releases
    • Talk to engineers, designers, and product people
    • Measure a baseline for review time, release frequency, and defects

    You receive

Assessment, baseline measures, and a short list of priorities.

  2. Phase 2

    1 to 2 weeks

    Plan

    • Pick the few practices to change first
    • Agree goals and measures with your sponsor
    • Plan sessions around the team’s real work

    You receive

A programme plan with targets for each practice.

  3. Phase 3

    4 to 8 weeks

    Coach

    • Run workshops and pairing sessions on your own code
    • Introduce one practice at a time, and review what worked
    • Train internal champions to lead the practice

    You receive

New practices in daily use, and champions ready to lead them.

  4. Phase 4

    Ongoing

    Embed

    • Measure again against the baseline
    • Write short playbooks for each practice
    • Hold a monthly clinic to answer questions and adjust

    You receive

Results report, playbooks, and a self-sustaining routine.

Engagement models

Choose workshops, an embedded coach, or a longer programme. Many clients combine them.

Team workshop

Teams that want to learn one practice quickly, such as review or testing.

1 to 2 days

  • Hands-on session with your code
  • Practical exercises
  • Short playbook
  • Follow-up call after a month

Coaching programme

Teams that want lasting change across several practices.

6 to 12 weeks

  • Assessment and baseline
  • Workshops and pairing sessions
  • Internal champion training
  • Results report

Embedded coach

Growing teams, or teams taking a product over, that need steady guidance.

Monthly, rolling

  • A senior coach working inside your team
  • Regular one-to-ones with leads
  • Monthly clinic
  • Scale up or down with notice

How we teach and what we use

How we make sure the change sticks, and the tools and practices we build around.

How we make it stick

Your work, your content
We teach with your own code and backlog, and keep nothing from your product after we leave.
Role-based and practical
Sessions are grouped by role and level, and spend most of the time doing, not listening.
Sponsor involved
A leader on your side backs the change, removes blockers, and sees the results.
Measured, not assumed
We compare results with the baseline and say plainly when something did not help.
Materials are yours
Playbooks, exercises, and recordings are handed over so you can reuse them with new joiners.

Practices and tools

Code review and quality
GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps, SonarQube, ESLint
Testing
Playwright, Jest, Cypress, Pact
Release and delivery
GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Fastlane, feature flags
Planning
Linear, Jira, Notion, Miro
Delivery measures
Review time, release frequency, change failure rate, time to restore
Learning materials
Hands-on labs, short playbooks, recorded sessions, and a monthly clinic

We teach with your own code and your own backlog, and use the tools your team already has.

Frequently asked questions

Is this training or consulting?

Both, but mostly coaching on your real work. People learn faster when they apply a practice to their own code and board.

Do you work with junior and senior engineers together?

We assess first and group people by level and role. Sessions are matched to each group instead of teaching everyone the same thing.

How do you know it worked?

We set baselines in phase 1 and measure again afterwards: review time, release frequency, defects, and the team’s own confidence.

Do we need a full programme?

No. Many teams start with a one-day workshop on a single practice and add more if it helps.

What happens after the programme ends?

Your internal champions keep the practice going, and you keep all the materials. Many clients add the monthly clinic for the first six months.
